This years meeting was held at
Beaver Creek at the end of March. We arrived in Eagle when it was raining, this was not a
great introduction to ski country. That type of weather is a lot like Whistler. It snowed
all Saturday night, just so we would realize that we are in the mountains. At this time of
year what we really want is sunshine!
This year's ACL study group was one the highlights of my year. I think that the success
may have had a lot to do with the participants. There were several discussion periods
during which the names echoed around the room like a bibliography of the anterior cruciate
ligament. Frank Noyes, and Savio Woo kept the debate balanced with basic science, while
John Feagin, John Bergfeld and Werner Muller led the clinical aspect. Ejnar Erickson
continued to remind us that most of this information had previously been reported in the
Scandinavian literature.
